Several weeks ago we get a call from Lisa Reinhardt, a local Minnesota makeup and hair artist seeking a new custom logo design for her business. She heard about us through another client who we also developed a logo design for.
We spoke with Lisa and learned more about her business and services, why she wants and needs a new custom logo design, and shared some ideas about the new brand. We brainstormed back and forth some words that describe her business and the image she wants to portray to her clientele. We also explained how our custom logo design and development process works and what she gets from us in the end. That’s where the creativity begins…
We started with good old pencil and paper sketches inspired by some internet surfing and a picture of an illustration she had captured with her camera phone.
Next we created vector versions of the best of the sketches. These are made in black and white so we don’t get distracted or influenced by color.
From there we got some feedback from Lisa on which was her favorite and why. She mentioned the word edgy and showed us another illustration she saw. Using the inspiration from that image and some edgy thinking, we added more detail and color and came up with this.
After one more revision to change the hair into an up-do, revise and fine tune the detail, add some unique text and violà…the new Lisa Reinhardt logo.
Lisa told us that she “LOVE LOVE LOVES IT!!” and so do we. :)
I found Cathi through a friends referral. The moment I spoke with her over the phone I knew that we were on the same page with my vision for my logo. Included in the custom logo development package was the creative part: brainstorming, custom logo sketches, initial digital implementation, feedback, logo revisions, grayscale versions, original custom art. And the technical part: all files needed for different applications for web and print use (ai, .eps, .jpg .png), all rights to her custom logo, and directions on how to use the logo properly.
We also created business cards for Lisa with the new logo, we’ll add a picture of those when they get back from the printer. Stay tuned…
