We are extremely excited to show you the flash showcase portfolio of Bob Lyss. Bob Lyss is a Senior Compositor that works on major motion pictures. He has an extremely respectable portfolio including contributions to The Matrix, Twilight, The Watchmen, The Pirates of the Caribbean, and more. The website we developed is simple, fast loading, and features an amazing demo real! (seriously, ya gotta watch it)
Mr. Lyss had the following requirements prior to his site being developed:
• The site needed to be fast loading and not require a load bar prior to viewing the demo reel.
• His website needed to be 100% Flash and resize and reposition to fit any screen resolution
• The content of the site needed to be updatable. This includes information about the shot breakdowns, resume, contact info., and main movie
• All elements of the website outside of his amazing work needed to be incredibly simple. (rightfully so)
So here’s what we did. The site features:
• The site is based on a four section liquid flash layout. The liquid layout ensures that no matter what the browser size your Flash movie will be viewed centered and full browser.
• His streaming video is optimized perfectly for fast load-time and a crisp end result. He actually showed us a few tricks on how to accomplish this. Go figure.
• His shot breakdown is fully updatable and expandable allowing his portfolio to grow as he does.
• His site is extremely small in filesize. The website itself is less than 200kb (smaller than a single photo on Facebook). His videos and images load on demand allowing them to load only if you’d like to see them.
