In the summer of 2013 we were introduced to this large outdoor movie screen service. The owner and his technology consultant saw the need to upgrade the site to WordPress while keeping it identical to its original version. Our task was to create an updated yet pixel perfect recreation of the non-wordpress site by migrating it to WP Engine Hosting and implementing The Genesis Framework. This WordPress website migration has improved their online experience in several ways including that it is now mobile responsive, is hosted on a secure and reliable WordPress specific hosting company (WP Engine), utilizes the extremely SEO friendly Genesis Framework and is much easier to update.
Here are just a few of the improvements made by this WordPress Website Migration:
- complex mobile responsiveness
- custom child theme for the Genesis Framework
- the clients team now has the ability to update and maintain their content
- the website is now hosted with WP Engine which comes with daily back-ups, restore points, security and so much more
We were contacted by Brian of One-Minute Astronomer to migrate his website to the Genesis Framework with a customized child theme as well as upgrading hosting to WP Engine. The website already came with a ton of great content and a good amount of followers, and it was up to us to move his site while maintaining the momentum he already had with the website.
The first part of the WordPress website migration was upgrade his hosting to WP Engine. WP Engine provides high quality WordPress hosting at a very competitive price. His hosting change improved several aspects of the website including security, page load time, a managed caching solution, faulty plugin protection, daily backups, and access to the best support team we’ve seen for WordPress.
Brian’s site was very minimal in design when we met him and he wanted it to stay that way. We translated his current site into a clean, white, custom child theme with HTML5 markup for the Genesis Framework. His site is now ready for the long-haul. It’s responsive, HTML5, built with current coding standards, secure, and well hosted.
Here’s an outline of improvements made to his site during migration:
- Website migration to the Genesis Framework
- Upgraded website hosting to WP Engine
- HTML5 Markup
- Load time of the website has sped up incredibly
- Genesis 2.0 custom child theme based on the Eleven40 Pro theme by StudioPress.
- Mobile responsive design allowing for clean presentation on smartphones and tablets of all sizes
- Hosting level caching solution (No plugin required!)
- Daily backups and the ability for him to backup his own site whenever he’d like
- His site now has a staging area where he can test changes before deploying them to the live site
- His site now uses Gravity Forms by Rocket Genius
- Google Fonts integration
One-Minute Astronomer’s Testimonial
I searched a long time for good web designers who understand best practices with the WordPress platform, so I was very happy to come across Ryan and Cathi at 3200 Creative. I wanted to migrate an existing site to a more secure platform and WordPress host. They helped me select an appropriate Genesis theme for my site, installed and customized the theme, and they recommended a secure and fast hosting solution. There was good communication each step of the way as the project moved forward, and Ryan explained technical concepts in a way that was easy to understand. In the final stages, Ryan and Cathi were quick to implement changes and last-minute modifications. Best of all, they delivered the project on time and on budget!
I highly recommend working with 3200 Creative. I look forward to working with Ryan and Cathi again.
Dr. Susan contacted us in need of a WordPress website migration to the Genesis Framework. She really liked the way her website looked but knew she needed improvements on the way the website performed. We took the exact look of her non-Genesis site and created a custom child theme for the Genesis Framework that included several performance and compatibility improvements. We achieved the majority of the improvements using a combination of the Genesis Framework and WP Engine hosting.
Here’s a list of the improvements we implemented during migration:
- Custom child theme built for the Genesis Framework
- Full content and website migration to WP Engine
- Daily backups and one-click restore points
- Implementation of automatic updates
- Mobile responsive design
- Customized widget driven homepage layout
- Page specific sidebars
- Google authorship
- Image compression improvements throughout the website
- Page load time improvements
Here’s what she said about the new website:
After researching the importance of upgrading to WordPress Genesis I contacted Ryan Murray at 3200 Creative to migrate our website from an old version of WordPress to the new platform that would also include a mobile responsive feature.
With the first phone consult, Ryan impressed me with his knowledge of the Genesis platform and how the migration process would be done. He promised to build our site so that it looked much the same since we were pleased with the overall look and design of our website. True to his word, the site was completed on schedule and the changes that were made were minor with regard to the overall look, but a big improvement in read-ability and function. Ryan communicated technical information in a way that was helpful, informative, and reassuring. He spent time with me reviewing our needs and made excellent suggestions about how to improve functionality of our site.
He made two videos of how to use various features of WordPress that have been immensely useful. Besides being an excellent web designer, he is a good communicator—of complex information. His work is outstanding, and his fees are very fair. As with all projects, there are bugs to fix once a site is complete, and he fixed the small issues in less than 24 hours. When the site was complete, I asked him to change minor things that that involved code and he was always responsive and problems solved quickly and to my satisfaction.
Lauren of empoweredsustenance.com contacted us in need of some help making tweaks to her website. Her website came with over 10,000 followers and a ton of great content. Not to mention Lauren has a passion for sharing her knowledge through her blog. After reviewing her website we decided that it would be in her best interest to upgrade her website to a new HTML5 Genesis child theme along with several updates to the look of the website and some changes for best internet practices. And her website is now mobile responsive!
WordPress website migration improvements:
- Custom HTML5 child theme for the Genesis Framework
- Mobile responsive design
- Google font integration
- Customized subscription forms to match site style
- New and updated web graphics
- Customized social network icons
- Less third-party plugins
It has been a pleasure working with Ryan and Cathi at 3200 Creative. They went above and beyond in meeting my requests to polish my site and add new design elements. They responded quickly and were always available to answer my questions via email or phone. I will for sure use them for my next project!
We were contacted by Janet, owner of Doggie Business to migrate her existing WordPress website to the Genesis Framework. She was very happy with the way her website looked but knew that it had the potential to perform better. She spent a good amount of time researching to find out how to improve her website for best internet practices and learned of StudioPress and the Genesis Framework. We were then contacted to redevelop the site exactly the way it looked using the Genesis Framework. We took the existing website design and developed a custom child theme for the Genesis Framework. Her website now performs better, is more intuitive for her to update, and is mobile responsive.
- Custom child theme for the Genesis Framework
- Mobile responsive design
- Custom testimonial archive
- Custom widget driven homepage layout
- Highly customized css styling
I recently contacted 3200 Creative after I found them listed on StudioPress as one of the featured designers/developers. Their company seemed to be a good fit for my little project, which was to revamp my company’s website and am glad I did so.
About a year ago, I decided that WordPress was the way to go and that my website could certainly use a new look. I found a WordPress template on the internet and began the challenge of teaching myself how to modify it. After a year of tweaking and struggling to learn, I came away with something that I really loved, however I found out there was no way to keep the template updated without losing my modifications each time, unless I created a child theme!
So, I began to look randomly on the internet for someone to create a child theme, but felt that it was really going to be difficult to know whether or not they would do a good job. When I heard about the marvels of Genesis by StudioPress I was convinced that this was what would work for me. So, I hired from their trusted list, 3200 Creative, to migrate and customize a theme from the Genesis library that had to wind up looking EXACTLY like mine in the end, with a few improvements, of course. They were dependable, professional and worked hard to make the website look the way I wanted it. They also did some customizing that I was unable to do and they cleaned up my code. All in all, my website is a dream and I look forward to working with them again on another project.
